The Port Orleans French Quarter is more like the New Orleans that We know from visiting or seeing on TV. All around Bourbon Street looks like this, the other Port Orleans (Riverside) is what the locals know about New Orleans, both are great choices and both have excellent New Orleans food, very close to the real thing. The French Quarter is a great choice for many reasons, one of which is the location, You are very centrally located close to all four theme parks and Downtown Disney and Disiney’s Boardwalk. The Disney Perks is a great reason to stay at any Disney onsite Resort, especially this one. You can take a water taxi right out the back of the hotel to Riverside or to Downtown Disney, all other transportation is out the front of the Resort.
Cobblestone streets, Intricate railings and courtyards that are true to the New Orleans area. The theme of this New Orleans Hotel is the Riverside area which is vastly different in architecture from the French Quarter. Inspired by the era of riverboats and Mark Twain. Massive estates with Huge pillars, grand staircases and lush gardens blend with the Mississippi-style waterways and gracious country hospitality. You can almost see Huck Fin at the fishing hole. The massive mansions are actually groups of hotel rooms which are moderately priced. The one thing in common with French Quarter Port Orleans is the food, about as close as You can get to New Orleans even though You are 10 hours away. You can rent a boat of most any type here to creep around the waterways and admire nature. Or rent a bike for Yourself or a surrey bike for the whole family.
Want to exercise? You have plenty of biking, running and walking paths to get all the exercise You want and almost all is shaded so You can do so longer. The Disney buses will pick You up near Your hotel room to go most everywhere You want on the Disney Property.
Being centrally located, Port Orleans is just a short bus ride to almost all of Disney activities and theme parks. You can even take a water taxi to Downtown Disney, this is not only convenient but very relaxing.
The swimming pool features a fun slide, waterfalls, hot tub, kiddie pool and poolside bar. The poolside bar, Muddy Rivers is fully stocked with Beer, Wine, Mixed drinks including frozen drinks that really hit the spot on those hot Orlando days. Just off the swimming pool deck is a very nice playground, close enough that Children can use the pool and playground at the same time.
Of Course the best thing about staying at a onsite Disney Resort is the Disney Perks and You get them all there.
Walt Disney World Dolphin, Onsite Disney Moderate Resort
Walt Disney World Dolphin
1500 Epcot Resorts Boulevard, Bay Lake, Orlando (Lake Buena Vista)
This resort is in the moderate category but feels more like a Disney Deluxe resort. The resort is located very close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. If either of those theme parks is Your favorite then this resort would be a great choice. You can take a short water taxi ride to either theme park or a long walk. The resort shares a main pool with the sister hotel, Walt Disney World Swan. Each Hotel has its own large fitness center and lap pool. These two resorts are actually not owned by Disney but the property is Disney’s and the standards are Disney.
